We all had such a treat for our September meeting! Lesley showed us how to make two kinds of pastry – a shortcrust that she uses for savoury quiches and a sweet pastry – and brought a delicious quiche she’d made so we could taste the results. I learned so many tips and, having avoided making pastry because my hands are too warm to rub it in properly, now feel I can have another go using the method she demonstrated of making it on a board so rubbing in isn’t needed.

Lesley also demonstrated a rocky road fridge cake, which we all tried and enjoyed. It’s very quick and simple, and perfect for short-notice treats.
