September 2022 – Influential Books Discussion
October 25, 2022

This month’s meeting is all about books.

We want to dig into your most influential books; we all have them they could have been read once and had an impact or ones returned to over and over again.

We are looking for you to come to our September meeting with two books, these could be fiction or non fiction. The idea for this meeting came from a big family zoom calls in Lockdown, we were all challenged to come to the next meeting with our most influencing books. For example, when it came to my mum (a retired Primary teacher and artist) I was expecting a classic literature book as an answer or a biography of an artist, but it was Silent Spring by Rachel Carson the influence definitely carried through to my generation, my brother’s pick was Folk of the Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton because he believes this was the door opener into fantasy and science fiction at a young age.

We hope very much that each member or visitor prepares two books for them to discuss at September’s meeting (finding only one is HARD!). Everyone is hopefully going to be returning home with some new suggestions.
