Tuesday 29th January 7-9pm
N1 WI is very excited to welcome Clare Brincat, one of Marawa’s Majorettes (http://marawatheamazing.com/majorettes/), to speak at our January meeting! She will be discussing their world-renowned hoola-hooping troupe, as well as leading a workshop for us so we can try out a few of their moves. No experience required and all abilities welcome (and there’s no requirement to hula hoop if you would rather not!). Visitors always welcome.
A reminder: membership for 2019 is now due! It’s £42 for full members, £20.50 for dual members. Please pay by bank transfer (details here: https://n1wi.co.uk/whats-our-wi-like/become-a-member/), or bring cash or cheques to the meeting.
We will also be voting on the Resolution Shortlist printed in your November issue of WI Life (https://www.thewi.org.uk/campaigns/resolutions-and-mandates) and drawing our next N1 WI Educational Bursary that night – £100 for an educational course of your choice! The bursary is open to members only so make sure you get your membership sorted.
More about our speaker: Clare has been a part of the Guinness World Record holding, hula hoop team, Marawa’s Majorettes, for 6 years. She hails from the tiny island of Malta, and has consistently challenged herself to be mightier than her roots. Being part of this all-girl, super team has given her so much confidence in her 20s, that she did not have in her teens and it is now her mission to pass on the attitude through hooping.
