In May our meeting found us touring Antarctica, which we discovered is not just a beautiful haven for birds and penguins. The cleanliness of the area is scrupulously maintained by sanitising everyone that sets foot on the land.

Thanks to Ann we learned more about Shackleton and his voyage, the scientists who live and work there and that they even have a Scout group.

It was a fascinating evening which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the members, and of course we did see lots of penguins and birds.

Thank you to Ann for making the long trip from Yorkshire.
